In the founding days of VMEP, the Ching Feng Group invested 100% while Sanyang Motor Taiwan provided management and technical support to assist in R&D and design for making motorcycles suitable for the requirements of the local Vietnamese market. For reasons of enhancing group operational performance and furthering resource integration, VMEP\'s operational rights were transferred from the Ching Feng Group to Sanyang Motor Taiwan in May 2000. Total investment had already reached USD 130 million by this time, making it one of the most outstanding performers amongst foreign enterprises in Vietnam \'s Tongnai province and a role model for successful foreign investment in Vietnam .
